Lawyer from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of California, Berkeley, and holds a Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration from the University of Chile.

Sebastián has over two decades of recognized experience in domestic and international arbitrations and high-profile, high-impact litigation.

Sebastián’s practice is characterized by a results-oriented approach that combines strategic vision, technical rigor, attention to detail, and the design of creative solutions. He integrates procedural strategy and business acumen to protect the value of companies and projects.

Sebastián has represented national and multinational companies in corporate, post-M&A, real estate, infrastructure, and construction disputes, as well as in complex disputes in the energy and mining sectors. He has also handled litigation involving state liability under regulatory acts, expropriations, and delays in permit issuance.

His experience includes arbitrations administered by the Santiago Arbitration and Mediation Center (CAM Santiago), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), and under the UNCITRAL Rules, as well as representing the interests of foreign investors and states in investment arbitrations before ICSID.

Sebastián was a partner at Bofill Escobar Silva Abogados for over twelve years, from its founding until the firm’s closure. He served as a foreign associate on the International Arbitration team at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (New York) and as an associate at Bofill Mir & Álvarez Hinzpeter Jana.

Sebastián is currently an arbitrator at the CAM Santiago and a member of the panel of arbitrators for the Santiago Court of Appeals. In 2024, he was appointed delegate to the Chilean National Committee of the ICC.
